Step 1 - GRP Rafters

First, 'Glass Reinforced Plastic' rafters are added to your existing conservatory window frames, including a GRP structural ring beam, rafters and ridge. GRP is not prone to:

  •

  •    wood worm

  •    moisture absorption such as traditional timber

  •    condensation

  •    thermal bridging such as bulky Aluminium alternatives.

The beginning of your improved conservatory roof insulation.

Step 3 - Celotex Insulation

Insulated Celotex sheets are snugly fitted with a 15mm gap from the internal Leka sheets. Celotex is one of the UK's leading insulation specialists, providing high value thermal efficiency and BBA certified and a significant benefit in achieving a better conservatory roof insulation efficiency level.

Step 5 - Tiling

Finally, a high quality Tapco or Metrotile roof is added.

Both Tapco and Metrotile offer a classic roof finish dependant on your property and required cosmetic look.

These lightweight alternatives to concrete tiles or slate really do make the LEKA systems overall finish stand out as much as the main structures attributes do.

Step 4 - Outer Sheets

Next, strong, load-bearing and insulated outer sheets are added.

These ensure less roofing bars and higher efficiency.

Our Leka outer boards have been engineered to offer:

   1. A structural alternative to plywood

   2. A significantly lighter alternative to any other roof covering board

   3. A 100% waterproof outer covering

   4. A thermally efficient board

Step 2 - Internal Leka Boards

Next, internal Leka sheets are added underneath the GRP rafters. The Leka sheets are 100% waterproof and one third the weight of plasterboard.

These sheets have unique thermal qualities as well, but allow for a traditional plaster skim finish to provide a nice visual aspect ready for painting afterwards.

Truly Lightweight

A truly lightweight tiled conservatory roofing system

(no smoke screens). We do not brand the new LEKA System as a lightweight roofing system without having the facts to back it up, whilst other products/materials actually weigh nearly double that of a traditional glass conservatory roof.

Glass reinforced plastic

green tick

Using GRP or glass reinforced plastic allows a structurally tested, lighter alternative to aluminium and timber when providing the main structural roof rafters. GRP is not at risk of sweating /condensation or cold bridging like aluminium. Nor is GRP open to wood worm, moisture absorption or potential rotting such as timber. The Leka System Structural profiles are manufactured and comply with BS EN13706.

No outer plywood needed

green tick

Removing the usual need for an outer plywood material which again is open to deterioration over a period of time and replacing with the new LEKA structural, 100% weatherproof, lightweight and insulated boarding system reduces the overall weight of the roofing system and improves the overall U values of the finished product.

Leka insulated board

green tick

With our own Leka insulated finishing board replacing the need for plasterboard as the internal finish prior to plastering, this new innovative board is a third the weight of a plasterboard and insulated at the same time.

Better lifespan

green tick

Using either a Metrotile lightweight sheet for your outer finish of your new sunroom or a Tapco slate alternative you can rest assured that the product provides a better lifespan to a heavy alternative tile and is lighter than that of concrete or traditional slate.

AND COMES WITH A 40 YEAR WARRANTY.

Within 30-40kg of a traditional glass roof

green tick

Average Leka system roofs weigh within 30-40kg of a traditional glass conservatory roof which allows (in most cases) your existing conservatory frames to take the weight of your new Leka roofing system

More innovation – less complexity

With innovative products throughout and combining insulated sheets with Celotex insulation the LEKA system has less elements to install onsite which speeds up your installation timings with average installation only taking 2-3 days including removal of your old conservatory roof

Improved energy efficiency

Having a load bearing structural insulated and weatherproof outer sheet allows the use of less roofing bars and so our roof bars can be spaced further apart which reduces weight and also improves energy efficiency levels.

With a Patent currently pending, Leka Systems will be the only UK company authorised to manufacture or sell a GRP conservatory roof system.

The Leka Systems team of highly skilled mechanical engineers have spent countless months developing our conservatory roof structure, ensuring the overall GRP pultruded product has a final design that meets the following criteria:

  •

  •    Structurally tested profile over various spans

  •    Adequate connection points to interlink our system and its associated components

  •    To allow no thermal bridging points

  •    Maintaining a lightweight structure and keeping the overall roof within the weight of

              current glass roofs.
